The Aperio Scanscope and software (www.aperio.com) comprise a state-of-the art digital pathology imaging resource, capable of producing high-quality, digitalized glass slides at 20x or 40x. Slides of tissue or cytology slides can be scanned in only minutes using the patented linear-array methodology rather than weaving blocks of image together.   

Digital slides may be compiled and stored as hard-copy files (DVD provided by the ITPC or external hard drive provided by the investigator) or in a server dedicated solely for the purpose of organizing client images. Access to imaging software is provided by the ITPC.  The Aperio Scanscope system is very useful in capturing images for publication/presentations. Furthermore, analyses such as tissue area, labeling index of nuclei or membranes, positive pixel, and color deconvolution are available upon the investigator’s request.
